About Jonesboro, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Jonesboro, Georgia is a well-off and lovely residential suburban community outside of Atlanta. The moderate, seasonal weather, vicinity to Atlanta, gorgeous homes, and serene atmosphere make Jonesboro a great choice for families, seniors or those who just don’t care for the hurry and hubbub of a metropolitan setting.

Atlanta is a music and film industry hub that has grown exponentially in the last few decades.  It is particularly the center for hip hop music.  In addition, Peachtree City (also very nearby) has become a new location for a lot of film and production work with the building of new studios.  It is not hard to see why this area attracts so many people.  It is not only beautiful, but economically booming.  The Southern weather is seasonal, as well, for those who look sunny summers and snowy winters.

Jonesboro was created as Leaksville in the early 19th century. In 1846, the Macon and Western Railroad came hurtling into the area and changed things forever. Jonesboro became a center of trade.  Neighboring townsfolk came far and wide to buy and sell goods and use the trains. The area was mainly agriculture, due to the climate being mild, and many farmers in the area dealt in wood and fertilizer.

In 1859, the town was renamed in honor of railroad official Samuel G. Jones. It is not uncommon in this area for the towns’ names to be associated with the railroad.  For example, Riverdale is named for the family that donated the money to have their town made an official stop on the railroad’s route.  His last name was Rivers.  If you are in the area, and the weather is suitable, you should really check out the local historical sites and be sure to take some time exploring the railway and its stations.
